Unfreezing Your Credit Before Applying for a Loan with PatientFi

If your credit is currently frozen, you'll need to unfreeze it before applying for a loan with PatientFi. A credit freeze restricts access to your credit report, which prevents us from completing the credit check required for loan approval. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you unfreeze your credit.

Why Do I Need to Unfreeze My Credit?

When your credit is frozen, lenders cannot access your credit report to evaluate your creditworthiness. By temporarily lifting the freeze, you allow us to review your report and process your loan application.

How to Unfreeze Your Credit

You must contact each of the three major credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax) where your credit is frozen. Here's how to do it:

1. Gather Your Information

Before contacting the bureaus, have the following ready:

  • Your full name and date of birth
  • Social Security number
  • Address history
  • PIN or password provided when you froze your credit
  • A valid government-issued ID

2. Contact the Credit Bureaus

You can unfreeze your credit online, over the phone, or by mail. Below are the details for each bureau:

TransUnion

Experian

Equifax

3. Specify the Duration

You can lift the freeze:

  • Temporarily (e.g., for a specific period or for PatientFi's credit inquiry)
  • Permanently (if you no longer need the freeze).

What Happens Next?

  • Verification: Once the freeze is lifted, PatientFi can access your credit report.
  • Application Process: Complete your loan application with us.
